Accessibility

Last updated 20 October 2026

Our aim

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA on this website and on the sites we build. Accessibility is part of the build rather than something added at the end, because retrofitting it is harder and usually worse.

What we do as standard

• Colour contrast checked against AA thresholds for body text and interface elements.
• Every interactive element reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus state.
• Proper heading structure, so a screen reader user can navigate by headings rather than hearing the whole page.
• Descriptive alternative text on images that carry meaning, and empty alt attributes on decorative ones.
• Form labels tied to their fields, rather than placeholder text standing in for a label.
• Text that reflows and remains readable at 200 per cent zoom and on small screens.
• Motion reduced or removed for anyone whose device asks for that.

Where we fall short

Being honest about the gaps is more useful than claiming full compliance.

• Some embedded third party content, such as maps and booking widgets, is not fully under our control.
• Older PDFs and documents may not be fully tagged for screen readers.
• Some client sites we maintain were built elsewhere and are being brought up to standard over time.
