We have 100 Google reviews!
We have hit a milestone we are genuinely proud of: NE1 Web Design & SEO now has 100 Google reviews, all of them five stars. One hundred business owners and managers took time out of their day to tell Google what it was like to work with us, and that does not happen by accident.
What is covered
This post is two things at once. A thank you to every client who got us here, and a practical look at how any local business can build its own Google reviews without it feeling awkward.
Thank you to every client behind our 100 Google reviews
To everyone who has trusted us with their website, their brand, their search rankings or their ongoing SEO: thank you.
To the businesses who picked up the phone for that first nervous call, wondering whether they really needed a new website. To the clients who pushed back on early drafts and made the final result sharper. To the people who came back for a second build, a brand refresh, an SEO campaign or a care plan. And to everyone who has recommended us to a friend.
NE1 Web Design & SEO is a small team and every project is handled personally. When you leave a review it does not vanish into a bigger machine. We read every single one, sometimes twice. You can read them all on our reviews page.
What 100 Google reviews actually means
Reviews are not a vanity badge. They shape how a business is found and chosen online, and reaching this number does three real things at once.
It helps us show up in the Map Pack
Google lists reviews among the factors that affect local ranking, in its own guidance on improving local ranking. That helps us appear when someone in Newcastle, Whitley Bay or Tynemouth searches for a web designer or SEO agency.
It helps people decide before they ever speak to us
Most prospects we speak to have already read our Google reviews before the first call. A steady run of recent five-star feedback tells them they are dealing with a real business that delivers what it promises, and removes the doubt that comes with hiring an agency you have never met.
It keeps us honest
When your reputation is public and permanent, you cannot cut corners. Every project has to be as good as the last, because the next review is the one a future client will read first.
Why Google reviews matter for your business too
If you run a local business and have no plan for collecting reviews, you are leaving enquiries on the table. Most people read reviews before contacting a local business, and a profile with three reviews looks very different to one with fifty.
Reviews also tell you what is working and what is not. The occasional critical review, handled well, is useful intelligence rather than a disaster.
NE1 Web Design & SEO Offer
Full GBP audit and 3-month optimisation programme
We dig into every part of your Google Business Profile, fix what is holding you back, then manage it for 3 months. 3 posts per week, review strategy, and Map Pack tracking every step of the way.
A simple review system you can start this week
This is the process we recommend to clients. It takes about five minutes per job:
- Create your direct Google review link from your Google Business Profile and save it where you can grab it in seconds.
- After every completed job, send a personal text, WhatsApp or email within 24 hours. Thank them, check they are happy and include the link.
- If you hear nothing after a few days, send one gentle follow-up. Just one.
- Reply to every review you receive, positive or negative, within 48 hours.
- Once a month, share your best new reviews on social media and your website.
Keep the ask personal and short, for example: “Really glad you are happy with the new bathroom. If you have 30 seconds, a quick Google review would mean a lot. Here is the link.” For more detail, see our free Google reviews guide.
What not to do
- Never buy Google reviews or use review farms. Fake engagement breaks Google’s content policy and can get a listing suspended.
- Do not offer discounts, freebies or gifts in return for a review. You can ask; you cannot pay.
- Do not script the review or tell customers which keywords to use. Ask for honest feedback.
- Do not gate reviews by only sending the link to customers you expect to be happy.
Onwards to 200
The next 100 Google reviews will come the same way the first did: by doing the work properly and treating every project as if it were the only one we are working on. Thank you again to everyone who has worked with us, recommended us or supported us along the way.
