WooCommerce websites

Online shops built on WordPress, for businesses that want full control, no monthly platform fees and a store that sits alongside the rest of their website. We build new WooCommerce websites and fix the ones that have got out of hand.

20+ years

Building WordPress websites for North East businesses.

Your shop, your data

No platform taking a share of every sale.

Fixes as well as builds

We take on WooCommerce shops we did not build.

Looked after

Care plans keep the shop updated, backed up and secure.

Where WooCommerce shops go wrong

WooCommerce is flexible, which is its strength and the reason so many shops end up in a mess.

Too many plugins

A plugin for every small feature, some abandoned, some clashing. Each one slows the shop down and adds risk.

Slow on a phone

Heavy themes and huge images mean shoppers on 4G give up before the product page has loaded.

Updates nobody does

WordPress, WooCommerce and plugins need regular updates. Left alone, shops break or get hacked.

Checkout and delivery set up badly

Confusing shipping rates, missing payment options and a long checkout lose sales at the final step.

Is your shop slow or hard to find?

Our free health check looks at speed, product pages and how your shop shows up in Google.
You get the quick wins first.

What a WooCommerce build includes

Everything needed to start selling, set up properly the first time.

A design built for selling

Clear categories, good product pages and a checkout that is quick on a phone.

Products set up or imported

From a dozen products to several thousand, added by hand or imported from a spreadsheet.

Payments that customers expect

Card payments, PayPal and wallet payments like Apple Pay and Google Pay, set up and tested.

Delivery and collection

Shipping zones, rates, free delivery thresholds and click and collect, set up the way you work.

Emails and VAT

Order emails in your branding, with VAT and invoices set up correctly.

SEO for products and categories

Category pages with proper content and product pages written to be found, not just listed.

WooCommerce or Shopify?

We build both, so we will always tell you honestly which suits you better.

  • Choose WooCommerce for control. You own the site and the data, and there is no platform fee on every sale. The WooCommerce plugin itself is free and open source.
  • Choose WooCommerce if you already run WordPress. The shop sits inside your existing website rather than on a separate platform.
  • Choose WooCommerce for content heavy shops. Guides, blogs and detailed pages sit naturally alongside the products.
  • Choose Shopify for simplicity. Hosting, security and updates are handled by the platform, with less to look after.
  • Choose Shopify to sell everywhere. Selling across social channels and marketplaces is often easier from Shopify.
  • Either way, we can move you. We migrate shops between platforms with products, customers and redirects handled.

Leaning towards Shopify?

Our Shopify page covers store builds, redesigns and migrations from other platforms.

How a WooCommerce build runs

Clear stages, with test orders placed before anything goes live.

1

Brief and catalogue

What you sell, how you deliver it and how many products need adding.

2

Design

The homepage, a category page and a product page designed first, for you to approve.

3

Build and import

The shop built on a private link, with products, payments and delivery set up.

4

Test and launch

Test orders placed end to end, then launch with redirects from any old shop.

WooCommerce questions

Is WooCommerce free?

The WooCommerce plugin is free, but a shop still needs hosting, a domain and sometimes paid extensions. You pay normal card processing fees, with no extra platform fee taken from each sale.

Can you fix an existing WooCommerce shop?

Yes. We start with a health check to find what is slowing it down or breaking, then give you a fixed price for the work.

Can you move my shop to WooCommerce from another platform?

Yes. We move products, customers and order history where possible, and redirect old product pages so you keep your rankings.

How many products can you handle?

From a handful to several thousand. Larger catalogues are imported from a spreadsheet rather than added by hand.

Can I add products myself?

Yes. WooCommerce is easy to manage day to day, and we show you how to add products, change prices and handle orders.

Who keeps the shop updated?

On a care plan, we do. Updates, backups and security checks are handled for you, so the shop keeps working.
